Fresh Fish 2012

During January I applied to be one of the participants and exhibitors of Fresh Fish, an annual fashion fair for promising young Swedish fashion designers held here in Gothenburg. After I submitted my application I almost turned in to a nervous wreck while waiting for the answer whether I had been accepted or not for the fair. But a little more than I week ago the participants were finally announced and I'm so happy to tell you that Up The Wooden Hills is one of them :)

Only 40 designers/brands were picked out and I'm so honoured and grateful that I was chosen among them. This is the first time I will be able to show my garments more in public so I'm very excited about the whole thing - and also a little nervous :)

Fresh Fish is going to take place at the Clarion Hotel Post in Gothenburg on March 9 to 11. So if you are in the city you should definitely stop by my stand and have a look at the garments and say hi if you want to!

I'm so glad you liked the post yesterday with the first little sneak peak of the new collection :) See you soon!

Hello my dear blog readers,

I'm so sorry for my absence here lately. As promised I'm very happy to finally be able to show you a few sneak peaks of my work process lately and some of the garments from the new collection. Besides using the ordinary Liberty floral print fabrics I have also chosen to work with the colour "ecru" from Liberty's plain fabric line this time. I think the white unbleached colour goes very well together with the ordinary Liberty floral print garments and I'm very fond of the ecru colour - it looks amazing combined with the beautiful quality of the Liberty fabric! The last pictures shows a blouse that I'm currently working on in that fabric. I hope you like these first sneak peaks.

This week I also have some other good news - I will do a post tomorrow and tell you all about it!

Thank you so much for all the kind words about the winter photos in the last post. I'm so grateful for all your positive feedback :)

It's currently -16 ° C in Gotenburg. Very cold but at the same time so beautiful. When the sun shines on the white snow it creates such a lovely light. Today I took a walk with my friend Katti around a lake called Härlanda Tjärn, located on the east side of Gothenburg. During our walk I took some pictures of the beautiful and frosty winter landscape. Hope you enjoy!

Simplicity

Paper cranes

My studio is currently in a big big mess. I need to get more organized but it's always difficult when it comes to your workspace. All things in here are searching for chaos - needles are on the floor and threads are all over my socks!

Later this week I will hopefully be able to show you the first little sneak peaks from the S/S 12 collection.

I'm very fond of origami folding at the moment and I recently spent some evenings making more paper cranes that I could decorate my apartment with. The cranes are now attached to the roof and every time I look up at the ceiling and see the them spinning slowly I feel calm and inspired. I think it has to do with the simple and very sublte expression origami somehow gives. I like that that both the process of folding and then looking at the result gives you a sort of detoxed feeling. Origami rocks!

See you soon :)
